As far back as I can remember, I’ve been on a quest for beauty.

My mom Mary encouraged all my creative pursuits, driving me to viola practice and endless art lessons. She did everything in her power to broaden my knowledge of and exposure to the arts. (To this day, she still indulges my enthusiasm for craft night.)

I demonstrated a knack for styling early on, constantly rearranging my bedroom furniture as I tried to make the room as beautiful as it could possibly be. My mom was incredibly tolerant of my incessant reorganization of her spice cabinet, though she drew the line when I tried to impose my vision on her entire kitchen.

For me, there is nothing quite as satisfying as setting a beautiful scene—with jewelry, clothing, food, furniture—whatever I can get my hands on, really. And I love including my own fine art when a setting calls for a painting, metal work, weaving, or ceramic bowls.

In my personal work, I gravitate toward aged pieces, items that were once pristine and flawless, but now bear a whisper of imperfection—cracks and dog-eared pages.

My freelance work has given me the chance to style in a variety of scenarios, from environment to tabletop. I find that my Visual Communications degree from NIU and 15 years’ experience as a graphic designer are invaluable on both video and photo shoots.

I’m thoroughly loving every minute of my second career as a stylist and have been thrilled to work with fantastic clients like Popcorn Factory, 1.800.Baskets, Fannie May, Yeti, Craftsman, Harry London, Ulta, Kenmore, Follett, and Ace (to name a few).

I can’t wait to see what’s next—maybe it’s you!
